This week we will journey with the Four of Wands from the Silver Witchcraft Tarot. In the card we see a woman and a man wearing dark orange-red hooded robes, dancing around a fire in a forest. They hold hands and the man is raising his left arm into the sky in a victorious gesture. They look happy and content in their movements, and a red cat is joining their dance. The sun is shining in the sky above the trees, generating a warm glow to the scene.
The card comes with the message of a gathering, a celebration, a wedding, honouring somebody, and the completion of a successful project. Often we get into the process of doing, and doing too much, and forget to pause and celebrate our achievements. This card reminds us to take a break, look at what we have done so far in our life journey and honour ourselves, and also the people we have around us.
The dance of the man and the woman in the card synchronise with the shift of the lunar nodes which took place 17 July, when the nodes changed signs to Aries/Libra for the next 18 months. Aries being the north node instigator of change and action, and Libra in the south node of letting go and moving away from things we no longer need. The moon’s nodes are mathematically calculated points from the sun, moon and earth, and move in retrograde direction trough the astrology wheel, asking us to focus on on the particular areas they transit. In your personal astrological chart, the north node in Aries will increase activity and bring in desires in the house which it transits. While the south node in Libra transit in your chart will usher surrender and purification. These changes are heightened during the current Libra season, and we can observe and pay attention to relationships which need to change, and utilise the energy of Aries to begin to attract a more dynamic compatibility. The recent full moon in Aries showed us how to embrace and follow new paths and the upcoming new moon in Libra will enhance this transformation.
Our additional helper this week is Blue Quartz, an opaque stone with a gentle and deep cleansing and grounding energy. It is connected to the throat and third eye chakra, and by cleansing these areas, Blue Quartz helps to strengthen their connection with the other chakras. Blue Quartz helps us to be more organised and disciplined in our everyday activities by releasing procrastination. It helps to hone clear communication skills, with other people and with ourselves, and it also enhances dreams and visions. Blue Quartz makes us focused and diplomatic and brings calmness and relaxation to stressful environments and situations. It is efficient in cleansing old and stubborn stuck energy and it supports our transformation to be the best we can be in any situation, without exaggerating the process.
Journey with Blue Quartz to find balance
Find a quiet place to sit or lie down, where you will be undisturbed. Place the Blue Quartz on your throat chakra. Take a deep breath and exhale, repeat this a few times until you feel relaxed and grounded. Then imagine that you are standing in a meadow, it is early evening and the sun is low in the sky. The sunset is violet and blue and you admire these stunning colours for a while. You notice that you are bare-feet and the grass beneath you feels very soft. You decide to take a walk, following a narrow path which is meandering ahead through the meadow.
After a while you stop and notice that you have arrived in a field of blue flowers, there is a variety shapes and sizes, and all of them in shades of blue. You decide to lie down in this beautiful gathering of blue flowers. Your body fits gently into the soft bed which the flowers create under you. Your body, mind and soul feel relaxed, you close your eyes for a moment and inhale the sweet fragrance of the blue flowers.
Then you begin to sense blue energy flowing into your throat chakra, gently cleansing and removing any blocks located here. Then the blue energy travels downwards to your heart chakra, cleansing and balancing this area, and thereafter the blue energy continues down to the solar plexus chakra, your sacral chakra, the root chakra, the knees, feet and then down to the earth, connecting to the earth mother beneath you. The blue energy continues up from your throat chakra to the third eye and the crown chakra, and then it travels even further up, through the sky and connects to the new moon above.
You lie in the bed of blue flowers for a while, enjoying the soft sensations in your body from the blue energy as it pulsates through you. You feel that you can fully let go and just enjoy being in the soft embrace of the blue flower bed.
After a while you feel that the blue energy is leaving your body and you begin to come back to the present moment. Take a deep breath and exhale a few times and feel grounded. Then open your eyes slowly and say thank you to Blue Quartz for the healing received.
After the meditation, journal about the below questions:
What can you embrace in the next 18 months with the help of Aries energy and the fire element?
What can you let go of in the next 18 months with the help of Libra energy and the air element?
Make a note of how you can best achieve and maintain balance in your everyday life, and return to these notes whenever you need more balance and grounding.
