For our annual Beltane ceremony we will work with the Tuatha De Danann card from the Mystic Sisters Oracle Deck by Emily Balivet. In the card we see three luminous fairies joyfully dancing in a green field, there is a golden sheen in front of them in the shape of flowery patterns. A fourth fairy sits at the left of the image and watches their dance. A giant red mushroom is growing behind the fairies, and the surrounding scenery is filled with green lush pattern of plants with tints of golden yellow. The Tuatha De Danann (from the old Irish Gaelic meaning people of the gods) were a supernatural race in ancient Ireland who lived in the Otherworld, which was reached through caves, ancient burial sites, hills, mists, ponds, lakes and wetland areas. They were described as druids, kings, queens, warriors, craftsmen and healers, and they interacted with humans as shapeshifters and tricksters. In the present day they are thought of as fairies who reside at sacred sites and whom still get involved with humans from time to time.
The message of the card is to re-connect with your spiritual path and your desires and wishes, and to know that you are capable of so much more. If you are ready to explore and grow your spirituality, you can activate this by connecting to the fairies in the land close to where you live. They encourage you to believe in yourself and affirm that you have all the magic within you to succeed on your chosen path. During Beltane, 30 April, the veil between the Otherworld and our world is thin and provides a space-time opportunity to cross the path to gather more knowledge. During these days consider the possibility that you can have one foot in this world and the other in the fairy realm and by staying receptive you will gain healing wisdom and the encouragement you need and deserve right now.
Last week’s Scorpio full moon may have revealed surprising secrets which threw you off course and temporarily halted plans. The joyful energy of Beltane mends any deeply felt disruption and helps to steer your own spiritual ship into the right direction. Enjoy the whispering air from the fairies pushing the sails and focus on your own mission, knowing that you are supported.
Delightful Lavender Quartz is our additional helper this week. It is a high vibrational form of Rose Quartz containing titanium and/or manganese which results in a beautiful lilac pink colour. It is found in Madagascar and South Africa. Lavender Quartz radiates healing, harmony, joy and love, and it has a sweet and soft energy. It encourages you to follow your own path and to create your own paradise of love by strengthening self-esteem and courage. Lavender Quartz reminds us to appreciate what we already have and it enhances compassion through gratitude. It is an excellent stone for meditation and to reach new comfortable levels of relaxation during times of distress.
Beltane journey through the veil of wisdom
Find a quiet place to sit or lie down, where you will be undisturbed. Take a few deep breaths, in and out, and let all tension go, until you feel very relaxed and grounded. If you have a Lavender Quartz, place it on your heart chakra. Then, imagine that you are standing at the edge of a lavender field. You can smell the calming scent of lavender and it makes you feel relaxed. There is a small path appearing through the lavender field and you decide to take it and see where it leads. As you walk through the lavender field you notice that the sun is setting and the sky is bathing in lavender and golden hues. After a while you see a green mound ahead and walk to it. Once you reach the mound you notice that there are large stones underneath the green grass, and there is a narrow opening in to the mound.
You peek into the opening and hear music, and decide to enter the mound. Inside, you look around, and you are now standing in a narrow passageway, and in front of you is another entrance. You continue through the next opening and enter an oval room with a healing bed in the centre, it is carved from dark wood and covered with green and golden coloured blankets and pillows. You notice that there are wooden shelves with small dark green bottles, crystals and flowers scattered throughout the room. You decide to lie down on the healing bed, pull the soft blanket over you, close your eyes and decide to have a rest. Suddenly, you feel a presence in the room and you momentarily open your eyes and you notice beautiful fairy looking at you. She is luminous, with very long, wavy, white hair, wearing a silver-white lace dress and she has delicate fairy-wings fluttering on her back. She is silent and motions you to close your eyes and you do so.
You begin to feel a beautiful lavender coloured energy from the fairy’s hands. It is tingling as it flows into your heart chakra, bathing this area in love and joy. Then the lavender energy travels downwards to your solar plexus, the sacral chakra, the root chakra, the knees, feet and then further down, connecting you to the Earth Chakra below you. You feel how the lavender light continues back upwards, to your throat chakra, the third eye and then the crown chakra, and you feel how it is connecting you higher up, to the spiritual guides high above in the sky. You feel very peaceful and enjoy the presence of the fairy, her healing hands and her soothing lavender energy. Your whole body is vibrating gently and you feel a lovely tingling everywhere and relax even more, enjoying this feeling.
After a while you feel how the lavender energy begins to leave your body and you begin to return to the present moment. Move your fingers and toes, and shake your body gently. Open your eyes slowly and say thank you to Lavender Quartz for the journey and the healing received.
