This week we will journey with the goddess Theia from the Mystic Sister Oracle by Emily Balivet and the Swan from the Animal-Speak Runes by Ted Andrews. In the oracle card we see Theia lying down on her right side with semi-closed eyes, her arms are leaning against colourful patterns of green, orange, blue, white and grey. She is depicted as a golden-white figure against a multi-patterned, colourful background of swirls and geometrical abstract shapes. Theia is a goddess of sight and the winged eye pattern above her is symbolic of her possessing psychic vision. Her posture suggests she is channelling and receiving messages. In Greek mythology Theia was the daughter of Uranus and Gaia, and she was also the goddess of ether and the blue sky, and she gave gold and silver their brilliant qualities. Theia had three children with the god Hyperion, named Helios, Eos and Selene, who are respectively the Sun, Dawn and the Moon.
The message from Theia is to make note of illumination and psychic vision. She urges us to spend time in meditation and connecting with our inner dreams. Through our own wisdom we learn how to manage our resources wisely and how to utilise our inner knowing in everyday living.
Our additional helper this week is the Swan, and she comes with the message of new realms and assures that now is the time to try new endeavours but not forcing oneself to let go of the present, if not ready yet. The doors of new opportunities will stay open for a while and you are free to explore these new avenues. Focus on your dreams and they will be ready when you are. The Swan also symbolises monogamy, grace, balance, wealth, beauty, purity and prestige.
The intense period of the annual Lions Gate and its cosmic alignment of Sirius, the Sun, Orion and Earth 28 July to 12 August has now passed. For some of us, this portent event awakened deep healing which aligned our chakras with other bodily points, and we feel more grounded and within our physical self. Following the full moon in Aquarius 19 August as described by Flavia here, and the square of Jupiter and Saturn the same day, we have further shifted stuck energy and cleansed debris which accumulated during the summer months. Now we are preparing for the autumn, embracing Virgo season and harvesting the gifts which we planted in the spring time.
Journey to discover your dreams
Find a quiet place to lie or sit down, where you will be undisturbed. Take a few deep breaths in and out, and feel all your tension and bodily stress go. Feel safe and grounded in your own body and in the space you are in.
Then see yourself at the edge of a beautiful garden, there are beds of flowers in a range of blue colours everywhere you look. The sky is bright blue and there are a few white, fluffy clouds in the sky. There is a walkway set with stones in the grass and you begin to walk on the path, admiring the flowers ranging in colour from pale pastel blue to dark midnight blue. There is a gorgeous sweet floral scent in the air which you inhale deeply and it makes you feel calm. You see a shimmering rainbow ahead of you, and you begin to walk towards it. The landscape begins to change, now there are lush, deep green bushes and blossoming trees around you and you feel delighted.
All the sudden you come to a small pond, which is at the foot of the rainbow. The iridescent colours of the rainbow are reflected in the water and you decide to sit down by the pond. You notice there is a graceful swan in the water coming towards you. The swan has an intense gaze and you sit calmly waiting for it to reach you. When the swan gets close enough you see that it holds a silver coloured silk pouch in its beak, and beckons you to take it. You take the pouch and look inside and see a small bottle containing silvery-white glitter. You look at the bottle and notice a small label which reads Open me, and you open the bottle slowly.
The silvery glitter begins to float out from the bottle and towards your third eye chakra, where it enters your body. You can feel how the silvery colour is soothing and cleansing your third eye and calming this area. The silvery light then travels simultaneously up to your crown chakra, and down to your throat chakra, heart chakra, solar plexus, sacral and root chakra, cleansing all the areas. You feel encompassed in the silvery light, letting the purifying energy of the silver-glitter cleanse and balance all of your body, inside and outside. Spend time in this glittery atmosphere for a while and let your inner vision and illuminated thoughts rise to the surface. If you have any questions to ask the Swan totem animal, you can ask them now. The answers might not arrive straight away but you will receive them at the right moment.
After a while you feel how the silvery glitter colour begins to remove itself from your chakras and your body, and you begin to return to the present moment. Move your body slowly from side to side, circle your wrists and ankles, take a deep breath and ground yourself. Open your eyes slowly and say thank you to the Swan and its glittery gift and the illuminated healing received.
