Have we understood the energetics of Venus and Mars yet? This year the celestial beloveds will spend two months in each others company, from February to early April, peaking 15-16 February, and again 6 March. They will enhance and possibly disrupt the acts and issues where the energy is focused in our personal charts. Venus in Capricorn wants the finer things in life, she wants commitment and stability, her feminine ways might be a bit subdued but she is very sincere and enjoys quality time with quality people. Mars in Capricorn is slowing down the fiery planet and since he not getting his hot-headed ways met, he might struggle a bit, possibly trying to act out and make impulsive choices, which do not benefit us.
To investigate these energies I invite you to look at the cards of The Lovers and Two of Pentacles. The Lovers card is ruled by Gemini, a jovial energy which is entertaining but can also be fleeting and discouraging when emotions get too heavy. The message here is that do not let things get stuck. The Lovers card often turns up when there is a deep love for the other but also as a message to look within and to be with ourselves so that we truly know what it is we wish to manifest. With the collective frequencies of love heightened during this Venus-Mars transit, we may want to focus inwards rather than outwards. Do the important work of self-love, cherish yourself and learn the respectful art of drawing boundaries to those who impact us negatively.
Two of Pentacles, the card with two earths balancing each other out, is the card of change, where the moving pentacles also form the number 8, the essence of infinity. In this instance, as a parallel to the Venus and Mars conjunction, the Two of Pentacles are initiating a dance, and expressing the reflections with and within the other, the female and the male. The movement of Venus and Mars in their conjunction phase is expressing an attitude of trying to get along and forming a relationship, or commitment, which might either give or take away something.
To deepen the enquiry into this transit, we can ask the crystals Rhodonite and Rhodochrosite for help. Rhodonite is a grounding and calming pink and black crystal, and its’ name comes from the Greek rhodon, meaning “rose,” and refers to the pink colour. It enhances self-love and establishes a grounded and caring feeling in the body, mind and soul. While Rhodochrosite ignites and welcomes new love, and can be used to heal the inner-self so that we are open to receive the person we are ready for. The name Rhodochrosite comes from the Greek rhodos, meaning “rose” and khros, meaning “colour,” and refers to the pink to rose-red colour. Together the crystals initiate both stability and change and they will help to remove any blocks and awaken you to new possibilities. If you have been stuck for a while, working with these crystals will help you to move on by bringing stability and receptivity into your life.
Meditation to awaken and stabilise your inner power
For this meditation, lie down in a comfortable and quiet place. Take a few deep breaths and relax. Feel very calm and safe.
Imagine that you are sitting on a rock by a beautiful waterfall in an exotic, warm and moist jungle. Flowers in various shades of pink are growing in the lush greenery and there is a sweet scent in the air. You dangle your feet in the water and feel them relaxing and responding to the hydrated sensation. Then you look down into the water and on the surface you see your own reflection, a very beautiful and radiant being, full of light.
You stay in this energy for a while and then decide to lie down on the rocks and rest. You start to feel a tingling in your feet, and there is a beam of sparkling pink light entering through the soles of your feet, making you feel safe and loved. This pink light is travelling up your legs and hips, the root chakra, the sacral chakra, the solar plexus, the heart, the throat chakra, the third eye and the crown chakra, and then the pink light continues above your head, connecting you to both Venus and Mars.
You feel your body is filled with sparkling pink light as you connect with the planets. Take note of how they make you feel. Enjoy their energy as they beam your body and soul with love and power.
Stay still in this cosmic energy bath for a while and relax. Pay notice to any messages you receive.
Then after a while you feel the pink light diminishing, and you can sense yourself back on the rocks again. Slowly open your eyes and come back to the present. Take a deep breath and say thank you for the messages and the healing received.
After the meditation, journal about the below questions:
How can you express self-love?
What can you do to be more flexible and still stay grounded in your love-life?
You can repeat this meditation anytime you feel you want to awaken and ground your inner power and open up to new possibilities, in any area of your life where you need extra support.
