We are all going to experience some form of Stockholm syndrome. We are falling in love with our captors, and we surrender to merging. The power tension is on, together with the pleasure of pain and suffering, the conflict between meaning and surface, material versus immaterial, intimacy or purging. And we are hostages. The New Moon in Scorpio is planting the seeds for major transformation, as it is retaining power and holding on to energy to electrify the universe. It stands opposite Uranus, and in good configuration to Pluto, which means, practically, it’s empowering itself; there will be explosive emotions of the deepest kind. It is going to be dark in the sky with the new moon of mysterious and super secretive Scorpio. It is happening on the 4th November, 2021, 21:15 GMT. At that point Sun and Moon conjunct at 12 degrees, and 40 minutes, of Scorpio.
With The 8 of Wands, we see passionate and dynamic accelerating movement. But the focus is still towards the past. It’s visceral and it’s subterranean. New moons are times of setting goals and intentions. Committing to something new and initiating a project or a relationship. This one is rather different. The energy of release is magnified and reinforced. The Sun, and the 9 of Wands are a clear indication that this new moon will be lived with intensity. Strangely for a water sign to bring up so much fire given that it is all about emotion and fluidity. We would normally advise to create with a specific intention. But here we’re saying sit with your emotions, feel them and then when the time is right, fight for them. The time of glory and exoneration sits at the root chakra of our person, our situation and our commitments. It comes from within. Let it do what it does. Get rid of stuff to create anew. Confronting frustration, anger and resentment all come up
The 9 of Wands is another fire, battle card, showing we’re in the thick of it. And it’s not letting go. We may feel we want to give in and give up. We are drained and still, however, in the process of negotiating solutions, at this point. Mercury in Libra is trying to harmonise and delegate at the same time. But soon, later in the month, Mercury moves into Scorpio, and his communication skills and way of thinking become laser focused on the project. Mars is in Scorpio already and not taking no for an answer. The situation can quickly become febrile as action is infused with sentiment and desire. Intensity throughout is unavoidable. The 8 of Wands and 9 of Wands are dark, mysterious, action oriented and dramatic cards that suggest we think about those parts of life.
But here comes the Sum. The Sun in Scorpio is loosing strength. Nevertheless, its signification is as strong as ever. With the Sun, there is a big picture that emerges, and an opportunity we can relate as we reach out to the world. The moon is in fall, too. So we’re feeling uncomfortable out in the open, whether charging with meaning or sitting around the camp fire disputing metaphysical issues, Scorpio style. We have now entered for certain the spooky season. We better enjoy it. And we shall.
Scorpio is a water sign ruled by Mars, which is energy. A wave of emotion. The advice is: ride it. Don’t fight it. The Sun is clarity in what we want to do. We must pay attention to what we are seeing. The signals are strongly showing us where we are dissatisfied. Planets in Scorpio will go opposite Uranus, one by one. Power and energy in darkness, in the deep and subterranean, in the mystical and the aspects of life that we’d rather keep hidden, will burst out in a combustible and abrupt way. There will not be a warning. Instead there’s aggression and disappointment. But as we’re abducted by the power of darkness, fear and panic may set in. We are wanting to take action. With The Sun followed by the 9 of Wands we’re reminded that not everyone’s emergency is our emergency, if we want to stay afloat. We have an esoteric and incise new moon that opens a new cycle through purging, cleansing and releasing. For our desire to merge to be realised through this new cycle, we are thinking in terms of a couple of weeks that will overflow towards the next six months and over to the following 18 months. During that time we need to learn how to be discerning and exclusive, and how to move from the complex to the simpler, while keeping our cool and taking our time.
