You thought is was never going to happen but it has. We are at a turning cardinal point of new beginnings and an inception moment. But we are now at the fall of the sun and next month we will celebrate – if that is the appropriate word – the fall of the moon, when we enter Scorpio season. Before then, a lot is going on and a lot is being planted for next spring. It is the New Moon, and a solar eclipse on the south node, that takes place on 2 October 2024, at 18:49 GMT, and at 10 degrees and 03 minutes of Libra. The solar eclipses always bring in something new, something karmic. The south node empties a space in a non negotiable way.

We had a very impactful new moon a month ago. But that was in Virgo, a double bodied mutable sign. The signification was one of change, however, we felt as if we never knew exactly what was starting and how. It was more about setting things in motion to realise dreams and collecting the energy to begin the process of realisation. Now things are different. Manifesting goals has value attached to it and a particular aesthetic look. The mental process is beginning to take shape and take action. We are trying to balance the extremes, the mental needs to be substantiated in the physical.

The Four of Pentacles, Strength, and the King of Wands take us in royal quest for material stability, emotional fulfilment and self confidence. We are starting off, leader style. Libra is a cardinal sign, a pivotal initiator. A sign of wisdom, as is the King of Wands. It is also the only sign that is represented by an inanimate object, and, yet, it is a social sign and a sign of relationships. With the new moon in Libra it is all about people. The magical attractiveness of Libra will be doubly influential in our relationships at every turn and in every layer of life, at home, work or entertainment. As Libra is opposite Aries, the sign of self reliance and self knowledge, we will be testing our ability to stay centred among demands from others. It will most likely be a confrontation. We will need to know when to stand firm, when to delegate, when to negotiate, and when to cut loose. Libra certainly knows intuitively how best to do this. And we are asked to do it more than ever right now. Because of the eclipse, things will be coming to us from the outside. How we respond to unpredictability, being triggered by others, and finishing off parts of our lives will make all the difference. It could happen in our daily habits and routines, our professional interests and worldly commitments, or intimate, personal life.

The Strength card is about inner strength. Believing in our mental powers and our powers of intuition. The ruler of the lunation is in Scorpio, where the moon is in fall and action is driven deeply inwards. Venus does not like that situation very much. It is out of character and, similarly, we will be feeling out of character too. However, we will still need to respond. Venus has traversed through Libra already, and the south node, getting rid of fated in-congruent Venusian influences. The element of severing ties and removing ourselves from others in various settings intensifies. Harmony may be disrupted. Demands are made upon us, and we will need Strength, physically and metaphorically, in order to deal with the strain. We may be feeling low in energy and rather moody. After all, Mars is in an emotional state in Cancer and acting with subterfuge.

This new moon will reactivate Venus’ journey through the south node and bring us a gift. It is the Four of Pentacles. The gift is about material stability. A new type of materiality is emerging. Libra is a mental sign, which through the Four of Pentacles shows a focus on balance and judgment of the physical world. Libra season will engage our inner strength to make happen what we want to happen for real. We are acknowledging others, but we are not driven off course.

The new moon will also trine Jupiter from Gemini, for that extra spark of luck in our abilities. In conjunction with the King of Wands, it is about tapping into our own charisma and, ultimately, making the right decisions, bringing in people with us and asserting our authority. Problems will come up, obstacles are unavoidable, false narratives can get in the way. What we are planting now will not come into fruition quickly. Slow planets are also big movers. Neptune is at the last degrees of Pisces. So the myths are still unravelling. Pluto has gone back to Capricorn’s last degrees too. He’s finishing off business in the material realm of authority and maturity, the small things that are overpowering need to be resolved in the Capricorn area of our lives. Pluto is bringing up revelations. Pluto corrupts before he destroys. It is happening slowly and steadily, and with a finality until out of Capricorn for good. Pluto into Aquarius later in the year, is where the energies will pick up speed. Until then we need our strength, patience, and discernment because what is starting now has a long history behind it and a long projection into the future. For even further transformational energy, we look to Venus in Scorpio which trines Mars in Cancer and Saturn from his sojourn in Pisces. Everything and everyone around us is conspiring for change. In effect the ruler of the lunation is in harmony with the master of action and god of long term achievement. Venus’ darkest thoughts and desires will manifest and come to light at the right time.

We are at a very fated moment in the year and some events will happen regardless our involvement. Therefore, being prepared for the unexpected and the karmic, with the wise and passionate counsel of the King of Wands, is our inner power not to be thrown off our centre, off balance. For better or for worse, anything that we haven’t got done which we should have, is done for us now. We have no choice but to see the beauty in it and move on. By the time we reap the rewards of our attitude, the south node would have moved to a new sign and a new cycle and new chapter of our lives would have already started. So, by the fulfilment of the new moon in Libra, we are going to find ourselves in a totally unknown environment, mentally and physically. In this new chapter of our lives that we are now initiating, we have no idea about how things will work out. Others and our ability to negotiate, delegate or cut off, takes on a new look and a new value system. Let’s enjoy the process. After a year and a half, the promise of the nodes on the Aries/Libra axis will have been delivered.
