Full Moon Pisces 18 September 2024 – by Flavia

A season of closures is itself coming to an overwhelming close. But the Saturnian influence of saying no, is still hovering around us, putting the brakes on our enthusiasm for expansion. Instead we are at a lunar eclipse and a preview of what is to follow in the next 18 months. It is the Full Moon taking place on 18 September 2024, at 02:34 GMT, and at 25 degrees and 40 minutes of Pisces. So Saturn in Pisces is both illuminated and in the dark by the eclipse. Decay and corruption are still powerful themes we are living with. After so many exaggerated culminations and conclusive endings throughout the last few months, it comes as no surprise that we are at a change of narrative and a change of pace. We are entering new storylines in our own lives history.

The Justice card, the Nine of Cups and Ten of Wands tell a complex story. Venus is in Libra where she has dignity as her domicile. She’s clearly represented here by the Justice card. Venus brings people together, is supportive, and harmonises us with our environment, wants things to be easy, clean and beautiful. But she’s also a carrier of unemotional justice, negotiation and delegation, strategic thinking and the contractual committent.

Venus in Libra trines planets in Gemini. So expect words to fly. Expect logic to dominate. Expect plans designed in every detail. The focus will be in business and movement. Justice and the desire for balance will bring a cerebral element to our relationships and practices, especially those to do with learning and the exchange of knowledge through information. Venus in Libra is a leader as much as striving to be an impartial adviser. She will be involved in problem solving exercises through her fellow sign of Gemini. And in her journey through Libra, she will connect by a trine with Jupiter and Uranus. The powers of expansion and electrifying chance in all their glory are there for everyone to see.

In one way or another, at this point we find ourselves leaning heavily towards an excess of something that needs to be addressed. Too much exercise or too little, too much movement or something like stagnation, lots of food and drink or a self inflicted austere depravation, too much work or too much play, any combination of opposites. The time is right to take ownership and find creative solutions. With the sun in Virgo we are hard at a clearing out of debris and a strong focus on physical health. Now with the full moon in Pisces we are dealing with emotional health and our mental well-being. The sun in mutable Virgo is preparing us for a change in season in order to organise for what’s coming in the future. The full moon in Pisces is urging us to allow ourselves to flow with the seasons and live in the present. The Virgo-Pisces axis of the eclipse cycle is a complete wellness programme.

Nothing is going to stop us celebrating and rejoicing, no matter in what state we find our selves in. We have it all and we are in a party mood to show the world of our abundance and happiness. It is all because the project has come to end in ways that we feel happy about. Our rewards are immense. But in a strange sort of way we do not want to let go. Here comes Saturn in Pisces to try to hold on to running waters. The boundaries are not impregnable. The Nine of Cups show us that utter fulfilment, the need to dance, to entertain, to break with routine and the everyday chores, to connect with our inner selves. We have to let ourselves flow with that feeling of fun and freedom, cause like the full moon, and the moon’s movement in general, it will not last for very long.

The Nine of Cups are followed by the Ten of Wands. The Ten of Wands, the last of the suit of wands which are of the element of fire, give us context. In what way can we be both overjoyed and depressed? The Ten of Wands tells of oppression and of a heavy burden. So the journey along this project or relationship has come as far as it can go, and now we can feel the burden of our achievement. We are carrying too much still. We have achieved our goals and now we are taking on the responsibility of owning our success and the pressure that comes from it. As projects conclude and what we have been working towards realised, we find that we are exhausted and unable to take on more. It is a stark reminder of the need for self care. If we look to the future we see Mars will enter Cancer. The need for protecting what we love, the most precious elements of our beings and all our powers of action will be focused towards care. Care for our selves, our roots, our homes or what we regard as our home, and our closest and dearest. With the full moon we have culmination, with Pisces – as the last sign of the zodiac – the cycle is closing, with the eclipse, the endings are final. We have road ahead of us but everything is not as we know it.
