From zero to hero. A new journey into the unknown is about to begin. And we start with nothing, but our vision and intuition, a friend, and minimal resources. We are about to find out that that is all we need for our adventure. Don’t get me wrong, this is not, necessarily, a voluntary situation we are about to experience. Change can be uncomfortable and daunting, as well as exiting and liberating. It all starts with the new moon that takes place on 09 February, 2024, at 22:58 GMT, and at 20 degrees and 40 minutes of Aquarius. Saturn, the ruler of this lunation, is exalted in Pisces. Reality, has reached its pinnacle, and it’s fluid and transcendental.
There is a futuristic, youthful and masculine energy as we move from earthy Capricorn to airy Aquarius. The Fool card, central in the reading, tells it all with an optimistic forward looking attitude taking on risks and the unknown. There is a breezy air and a light step that guides us into the future. We can’t wait to let go of the old, leave our baggage behind and head for all change, regardless an original plan or inclination.
In fact, if anything, this looks like unwanted, unexpected or abrupt change. Hasty events and some sort of crisis, will lead us into something unforeseen. But the Knight of Coins is cautious and brings a more self disciplined feminine energy into the mix. The Knight of Coins wants to act in a more deliberate, strategic way. It is a warning not to go too fast despite our eagerness to see results and to not follow our impulses or desires too quickly. We can take our time to recharge. We might be stuck in some routine, and hard work needs to be done before we can see some change, or decide to make a move. So The Fool might find us in a state of boredom, indecision or contemplation, or stuck in an unresolved situation either at home or at work, while everything is ready for the move.
We are going to have to go out of ourselves and of our familiar environment in order to break the habits that do not align with who we are and where we want to be. In the astrology, the major shift is expressed by the move of Pluto into Aquarius. In fact both Pluto and the Sun move together into a new sign heralding new beginnings in the outside circumstances and with regard to our own fortitude and inner strength. Pluto will stay in Aquarius until 2044, so we are talking about a long process of transformation and maturation. The word transformation, death-and-rebirth, is often branded about in astrological forecasts, however, it never was more true in any reading than right now.
While Pluto is in the zero degrees of Aquarius, all the other quick moving planets, those closer to us on planet earth, will meet him on their travels. As they move from Capricorn into Aquarius and towards Pisces, first messenger Mercury, then action oriented Mars, followed by value focused Venus, will unearth something of themselves in the relationship with Pluto and through their sojourn in the domain of Aquarius. Mercury will dig deep for new ideas, Mars will trigger action towards future goals, and Venus will make sure that the set up suits her aesthetics and value system of beauty and relational harmony.
The Six of Coins represents this passage. Pluto takes a long time in zero degrees of Aquarius as others pass by to greet him at this initiating seeding point in the sky. To transform, we are going to go through energy and time consuming difficulties and challenges. As the Fool is flanked between two coin cards, we are reminded that our urges and ideas need grounding in the body, earthly, material world. And for our ideas and our risk taking to make sense we should not loose sight that we need patience, perseverance, hope and belief that we are going to get there by taking small daily steps even if change is not yet visible. The outcome is eventually going to manifest in the physical world in terms or finances, relationships and possessions. It can be new partnerships, jobs, houses. For Aquarius themselves, it can also mean honours and personal titles.
The Six of Pentacles can indicate hardship and karma that gets resolved through a harmonious and balanced outcome. It’s often associated with wealth and generosity, charity, giving and receiving. It’s is a karmic and socially focused cycle. Aquarius reminds us that we can not go it alone. We are encouraged to ask for help and to offer it to others when needed. We are part of a greater whole, of a group or a team, and that our identity is created fundamentally and enhanced by that association. So it’s transformation on a cosmic level and of a futuristic perspective. And it all starts now by taking the first step. With all of us the future is here.
