The week of Beltane, the celebration of spring, love and fertility, has arrived and we will work with the Ace of Voices from The Muse Tarot by Chris-Anne. In the card we see a woman with pink, green and blonde flowing hair, looking to her right. A ray of light is coming from the side of her head, and there is a circle behind her which looks like a window with a sky view, perhaps the opening to another world. There are prayer flags in many colours hanging in front of her, and a white owl is flying below her. A triangle shape is depicted below at the horizon, against a mountain silhouette, in shades of blue.
The card tells us to be ready to receive a flash of new ideas and information where truths are unveiled, which will be beneficial to our future. The Ace of Voices tells us that we are all created and contain light and these particles of light will make us more open to welcome new paradigms and visions, some of these supported by the wisdom of sacred geometry. The owl signifies mystery, wisdom, nocturnal habits and dreaming, indicating that we will be able to connect to the dreamworld and also that our ability to pull through the dreams experienced at night time into the real world are heightened.
Our additional helper this week is the Frog, from the Amulets of the Goddess by Nancy Blair. On the amulet we see an amphora decorated with a frog image. Frog brings the message of Speaking Out, that it is safe for us to use our voice to its full capacity and to communicate that which is needed. The amphora (on which the frog is depicted) was considered a sacred chalice containing life force, from which everything was created and to which all life eventually returned. Frog Women/Goddess figurines from ancient Europe show women squatting as if in the process of child birth and the Frog was revered as a sacred animal in many other parts of the world, linked to feminine wisdom.
The arrival of the Scorpio full moon and the lunar eclipse on 5 May will be a powerful time to practice the relationship with your voice. Speak out all the things you think you were not allowed to say, delete the conversations in your head which were never meant to be said and heal the hurtful ones which were said. Emotional outpours may cleanse your own capability to voice that which you know is not of value anymore. Be grounded as you continue to develop the true voice of yourself and sense the empowerment and unleashing of new layers of information during the process. When expressing your voice of wisdom you will also be strengthening the community and its ability to thrive and to self-realise important issues regarding being heard as an individual and as an individual within a group setting.
Journey to find your voice with the Goddess
Find a quiet place to sit or lie down, where you will be undisturbed. Breathe deeply in and out a few times and relax your whole body. Let any tension go, and feel safe and comforted as you enter the journey.
You are standing in a mountainous landscape, with green hills and a lot of trees and bushes, and a few tiny waterfalls. There is a narrow path leading upwards and you decide to follow it. It is evening and the sky is dusky pink with light violet and deep golden streaks. The path meanders upwards slowly, and there are several earthy scents from the low bushes and trees along the path. You arrive at a plateau and stop. In front of you is a beautiful pale pink temple, it is round, with tiny oval windows, and the whole building is covered in golden patterns, in an otherworldly design which you have never seen before. You see a round entrance and you decide to walk in. You are at a temple of the Goddess of the Voice. Inside the temple it is cosy and warm, there is a bed in the centre of the temple and you walk towards it. It is covered with silk in golden and pale pink colours and there is a small fire place next to the bed. Here sits the Goddess of Voice. She smiles when she sees you and you feel comfortable looking at her, since she is a mirror of yourself, clad in a white dress.
The Goddess of Voice asks you to lie down on the silk covered bed. She pulls a blanket over you and puts her hands on your heart. You can feel a warm healing energy emanating from her hands. She begins to name parts of your body, beginning with your feet, and when she names them you feel a spark in your feet, as if she has lit parts in you which were dormant for a while. The Goddess of Voice continues to touch and heal your calves, your knees and your hips, naming and healing each part as she goes along. Then she continues up to your belly, your chest, your neck, your face and then to the top of your head, where she stays for a bit longer. You can feel the top of your head warming and opening, forming a spiritual connection with the Goddess of Voice. It feels light and vibrant to be in her energy. You may ask her a question at this point. Listen to the answer and relax, and enjoy being in her rose gold energy for a while.
After a while you feel that the energy of the Goddess of the Voice is starting to withdraw. Relax and come back to the present moment. Take a deep breath, exhale deeply and open your eyes slowly. Say thank you to the Goddess of Voice for the healing and the messages received.
After the meditation, journal about the below questions:
Where do you feel you are not heard?
Where do you feel you are heard?
For five minutes everyday, allocate time to practise speaking your truth, in any way which feels comfortable to you, in front of a mirror, while dancing, showering or sitting in meditation pose.
Wishing you all a beautiful Beltane, celebrating with your genuine voice, with blessings and love.
