New Moon Pisces 20 February 2023 – by Flavia

Water water everywhere. Welcome to the new moon in water sign Pisces. Mutable water that flows both ways. Do not expect definition, but expect dissolution. We are being prepared in the kindest way for the hardest and most dense aspects of our lives to dissolve. Planets that have moved into fiery Aries – Venus, Jupiter and Chiron – are urging us to get ready to go in a flash. Hard solid aspects keeping rigid in icy Aquarius are about to melt away, slowly but surely. Saturn is still there in Aquarius finishing off business he started more than five years ago in his domicile of Capricorn and Aquarius. And messenger Mercury will be in Pisces by the time of the next full moon, in two weeks time, bringing us the news of what is it all about.

It starts with the new moon happening on 20 February, 2023, at 07:05 GMT, and it is taking place at the 01 degree and 21 minutes of Pisces. So at the very beginning, of the very last zodiac sign, is where the seeds of future manifestations are planted.

Honestly, definitely, unequivocally, with the blessings of higher forces and without looking back, something new is about to happen. The roots are taking place now. What we are about to experience couldn’t be better described than the Eight of Cups. It will be transformative and will leave our footprints of our past in the sand. What we know now as reliably solid and eternal, will disappear for ever and we might not even notice. But before we get there, we have to look at the Five of Cups and the Judgement card.

The new moon still finds us contemplating loss and regret. Things from deep within are haunting us. We desire to think about the future and reach out for what is ahead of us, yet, we can not let go of memories or perceptions of the past. It is nothing other than a black hole that is trying to claim us. We are inactive in some aspect of life that has taken over, overwhelmed by feeling forlorn and a sense of desolation. It is looking into the void with pessimism, thinking of all our shortcomings and failures, everything that does not live up to our imaginary sense of success and achievement. Everything that society has conditioned us to revere or to strive towards looks like dust, looks more like skinny dry vegetation, than the respected admirable thing we were led to believe. And now we are on our own. Going through Aquarius we have been feeling special and unique in our quirky habits or way of thinking. While social but remote at the same time, this sense of uniqueness in our condition has also brought loneliness and fear. The depth of our despair does not need to reflect real life situations. It doesn’t need to necessarily reflect our material reality. But it’s there nevertheless, and it is in itself just as real.

But it is through this self doubt and regret that our true calling will come about. We are on the verge of becoming someone else. The Judgement card is powerful and represents the long term. It is a true rebirth when we will realise ourselves, not just on the physical realm and not just on the spiritual path. It is a complete renewal – inside and out. What seemed like an insurmountable obstacle will dissolve. It is a higher power situation. It doesn’t even need to make sense in the material world but it will be real. With Mercury moving into Pisces, news will permeate and fill spaces even when they are silent. The revolution wont be televised. But it will happen. Judgement is for real and takes place everywhere. So we will feel it in our personal lives and in our environment.

The Eight of Cups tells us that we are leaving behind sentiment, watery emotions, nostalgia, stagnation and uncertainty, and we are moving towards the light, inspiration, bright thoughts and bright deeds, action and self empowerment. By the end of Pisces season, we would have come from water onto the land, we are going to be standing up and walking away. We are heading towards our futures, manifesting our dreams without remorse. We are turning our backs to people, places or situations that are harmful. We abandon unpleasant thoughts. We accept not all of our plans will be realised and that is fine. We can change our minds, if we need to and we are not worried about it. A change of direction, does not have to bring hardship and pain. Not everything will happen as we expected and that is probably a good thing. The road ahead is clear, if unknown. We are going to create it as we go along. We have found a way through the disappointments of the Five of Cups and we are purified through Judgment. This is not just an ending of a cycle, it is the beginning and a rebirth. It is clearing up the path for more that is to follow that is fresh and has future happy adventures embedded in it.
