A full super moon and a total lunar eclipse is upon us. Dramatic events coming from the outside will manifest, and much will seem to be out of our control. It is super cleansing time, with the lunar eclipse falling on 5 degrees and 25 minutes of Sagittarius. The full moon will peak on 26 May 2021. Best described as culmination, fruition, manifestation and abrupt endings of things that we’ve been involved with for some time and outgrown, it will bring with it knowledge and a greater understanding of our situation. Jupiter is involved from his summer house by the lake, sea and river in Pisces. So naturally thing will augment with emotion, though we are experiencing a full moon on the south node of a descending movement. Perhaps a contradiction. Or perhaps things are so big now that we can not ignore them. Releasing with gratitude would be the best approach. We have a guidance and suggestion from our Tarot to help us think around issues that could be manifesting in our lives right now: It comes through the 9 of Wands, The Devil, and the King of Cups.
We have had the Devil before I believe, and therefore let’s start there. The message is loud and clear. It’s time to reiterate and insist that whatever keeps us prisoners, whether it’s our limiting beliefs, or attachment to damaging habits, people, places, ways of doing or thinking, that do not help us or our environment, are illuminated and need to be confronted. With an eclipse it is not even a choice. If we never dealt with those issues, we can’t expect them to just go away by themselves. They will keep turning up like the bad penny. And so at the heart of this eclipse season are the things, people, thoughts, actions, situations, habits, attitudes we have to leave behind and, for better or for worse, events will force our hand. Once done, it can not be redone or undone. Eclipses come in groups of twos every six months on the axis of two signs. They last about 18 months on each group and move backwards. Once they leave the two signs, business is done and dusted. Right now we are on the Sagittarius/Gemini axis, with the South Node in Sagittarius and North Node in Gemini. The themes of learning, sociability, trade and communication are those highlighted. It is mutable air and fire. So change will be drastic and complete. And we are right in the middle of it. So things are still developing.
The 9 of Wands tells us it won’t be easy. Pain in some form or another will not be avoided. Wands are of the nature of fire. And Sagittarius is a fire mutable sign, full of passion and ready to aim high and charge forward. Just as we see in the picture, this is a very active and super energised situation we find ourselves in. There’s movement to the extend that we could be feeling instability as we are thruster in a whirlpool of action. And yet despite all our good will and readiness to fight for what we want and value, this is a time fraught with difficulties and obstacles in all directions. But here we have a particularly optimistic representation of the 9 of Wands, which normally sees a person battle weary and hurt, leaning on a staff. In this deck, the person is dressed splendidly in bright colours and looks like he’s jumping from joy. And yes. It is because no matter what, we are still here. We are still standing. We are still fighting. We are not giving up. Ultimately, it is true that with Jupiter as the ruler of this full super moon there is cause to keep our spirits high and still hope for the best outcome.
In fact here he comes as an outcome card: the King of Cups. Healing is the outcome. Feelings will run high and overflow. But they will not drown us. Instead we can tap into our heart to find dominance over our circumstances and confidence in our beliefs. The King is standing strong and full of knowledge. He signifies the truth, is the true feelings. Completion, wholeness and meaning is when things feel right. We are in the midst of a very spiritual journey. Our intuition is all we need to create our real world in the material form of our everyday lives. Now we can also believe it. As we fight through the elements we learn to trust ourselves and letting go of whatever keeps us trapped or limited will not be a problem, because the outcome will be generosity, bountiful fortune and replenishing in ways that can be suddenly surprising and unexpected.
