This week we will journey with the Egyptian Goddess Isis. In this card she is depicted floating in the air above waterfalls, in a tropical landscape. Wearing white flowy clothes, she holds an ankh cross in her hands, and her head is adorned with golden coloured horns. Her wings form a graceful shape and makes her look empowered in her levitating position. The mythology of Isis recounts how she brought back her dismembered husband Osiris to life and after this Isis conceived their son Horus. Isis is the Greek form of her name, in ancient Egyptian it was Aset, meaning seat or throne. Isis was worshipped in her role of mother, wife, healer and protector of the dead. With her later expansion into other parts of the world, she also became the Goddess of good fortune, the sea, and travel.
Isis reminds us to honour our past. This could be the past in our current life or our past lives, for those who connect to that idea. She wants us to continue to materialise our lineage through respecting those who have brought us to where we are now. Through writing and creating art and music we can flourish and deepen our connection to divine magic through their healing powers. Isis as the healer supports our innate gifts which have been handed down through generations, and Isis as the mother nurtures those talents so that we can step into our own Goddess strength.
Already a week into Scorpio season, we might have started to dwell in past memories which we need to transform to be able to move on. At the full moon in Taurus, 31 October, which coincides with Samhain and Halloween, let Isis nurture your past, and let her heal all those wounded parts which cracked. Her ability to put together that which is broken is remarkable and through alchemical processes, her magic can bring back that which you lost some time ago. In synchronicity, we can learn from Taurus, their essence is to be in the body and rely on its processes through nourishment and beauty. With the added healing of the waters of Scorpio, which washes you in powerful memories and glimpses of future grandeur, the coming weekend can bring you an unforgettable experience of transformation and gratitude.
Meditation with Isis
Try this meditation with Isis.
Sit down in a quiet space. Take a few deep breaths and relax.
Look at the image of Isis on the card. Observe how she is powerfully hovering above the waterfall, there is a radiance emanating from her very being. Observe how her soft wings are enfolding in a gorgeous shape, making her levitate as he sends out a beam of healing light. Feel the warm tropical air on your skin as you observe the beautiful landscape. Let your feelings choose a focus point for your gaze.
Stay in meditation for 5 to 10 minutes.
After the meditation, journal about the below questions.
How can you shed your old layers to get to your own truth?
To whom can you say – I forgive you, thank you, and now I move on?
Additional practice – forgive and heal the past with Phosphosiderite
Phosphosiderite is a gorgeous crystal created from iron phosphate and has a colour range of deep rose to magenta, purple violet and also comes in yellow, brown and green. The name Phosphosiderite comes from its mineral consistency, phosphorous, phospho, and iron, siderite. The latter part of the name, siderite, is related to the Greek sideros, meaning iron. It is also called piedrea voga meaning pink stone, and la rosa voca, which means pink rock. The lavender pink variety comes in stunning light pink to a deep lilac colour, and sometimes these hues are displayed within one crystal.
Phosphosiderite has a soft and comforting energy and it has a deep connection with the heart chakra, though it can be used on all chakras to softly heal trauma from the past which is lodged in our energetic body. It is a very spiritual stone and it helps us to connect to the higher dimensions in a grounded and focused manner. Phosphosiderite enables us to receive unconditional and divine love by opening channels from the past to the present and to the future. It connects us to our soul’s knowing and helps to release negativity through nurture and compassion. Phosphosiderite helps us to trust and to stay on our spiritual path, in this lifetime and in past lives. It can be used during a spiritual pilgrimage to open up receptivity of messages from the divine and it also serves a comforter during grief to release sadness in a gentle way.
For the healing ceremony, lie down in a comfortable position. Place the Phosphosiderite on your solar plexus, close your eyes and take few deep breaths and relax. Feel the energy of Phosphosiderite and how it gently cleanses blockages. Sense how the beautiful lavender pink light is flowing down to your sacral chakra, the root chakra, the knees, feet and toes, and connecting you to Mother Earth below. Then feel how the energy of Phosphosiderite is travelling upwards from your solar plexus to the heart chakra, to the throat chakra, the third eye chakra, the crown chakra and beyond, making a connection to the Cosmic Goddess above. Sense how the healing energy of the lavender pink light is linking all your chakras and then expanding into your whole body. Stay in the healing energy of Phosphosiderite for a while. Note any messages you receive at this point.
Take a deep breath and say thank you to Phosphosiderite and her healing gift. You can repeat this practice anytime you want to connect and heal anything or anyone from the past.
