Il Mantegna

Flavia will be using a humanistic ‎outlook in her interpretations. She recalls inspiration and emotional support from the Muses in accordance to Renaissance artists and ancient Greek poets. Il Taroccho del Mantegna is the perfect deck in this quest as it includes Muses and ancient Graeco-Roman deities among its cards. Though the name Mantegna is suggestive to some artistic or divinatory connection with the famous Renaissance painter Mantegna, in reality the deck has no known link to him. However, the deck does originate in the Italian fifteenth century. As such it’s immersed in Renaissance thinking and iconography. Together we will learn more about it while using it. And it is perfectly suited for our exercise in alternative counselings, self knowledge and healing.
